Sasha's story

Hi, It's me Sasha. Ernie agreed to let me share today. He will be back. He was having so much fun. But it's my turn. This picture is of me during my first week here. I was 1 1/2 years old. Now I am 9. Mom & Dad got me from a shelter. They loved me at first site on petfinder.com. A lot of people wanted me but they say they were lucky to get me. I did not have a good start in life. People yelled at me and I didn't get any chances to play or be with other dogs. I was afraid of everything. Even garbage bags people put out for the garbage men. Stairs were an even bigger challenge. So many things spooked me. I am much better now. I am a happy girl and I have even helped my Dad sometimes. I am very loved. When Ernie came to live with us I learned how to play and stuff. He is now ONE of my best friends. I am lucky a lot of people and dogs really like me. Below are some pictures I like. Hope you enjoy them.
These pictures are not in any special order. This picture is of me and my "cousin" Murphy. He was so tiny. He loved to chew on me. Everyone said I should discipline him and not let him get away with it. BUT he was so cute, I just couldn't do it.
Here he is again. Almost asleep. Much easier to check him out when he is this way. Now he is about 3 years old.
I am on the left, Murphy is in the middle and his big brother Chugger is on the right. Chugger was a wonderful big guy. He sure could swim and hike. We miss him! Mom says he is in Doggie Heaven with our other puppers. Bet they are having a great time together. Running and having fun. Maybe someday I will write about them. They were also very special to Mom & Dad. They have a thing for puppers like us.
Another picture. I am on the left and Chugger is busy chewing. Notice the smile and happy look. I sure liked him.
Sure wish I had that chewy!!!!! Maybe he'll share????
This is one of my favorite things. Chasing balls and swimming. Sometimes I sneak back into the water when Mom isn't looking. That is unless she has me on the leash.
This was fun. Maybe I'll do this again sometime. Thanks Ernie.

Back from the country

Here I am waiting to get outside and check out things. I like sitting on this chest so I can watch what is going on outside. I was hearing wild Turkeys and sure did want to get out there. I am King of this Hill. So many things to watch and listen to. Sasha is soaking up some rays. Enjoying the warm sun. I heard Mom & Dad say it was in the 80's. I know there is a critter hiding in this burn pile. I can smell them. Sasha likes to explore too. She has a regular route she checks out sometimes. This is me also exploring. This is so much fun. We decided to check out the perimeter. There are good smells along the fence. Sometimes cows wander by. Also this time we could hear the frogs and the wild Turkeys. One time we found some black hair low on the fence. Mom wondered if it was bear hair. A good game of chase or keep away is always fun. Sasha used to be really fast but I am the fast one now. We are having a discussion. She wants the squeaker thing I have. OOPS! She almost got me. But I hung on. We are such friends!!!!!!! I am still the fastest!!! I like having her chase me! I feel so good!!! So happy!!!! I love it there. Hope we go again soon. When they first got me, I used to run off. Running was so much fun. I didn't know what to do. Now I stay close and just enjoy hanging out and playing.

The "Girls Next Door"

These are our friends next door. We refer to them as the girls. There are 3 of them. Mom tried to get a picture of them through the fence. It didn't turn out too well. Sometimes they run down the fence line with me (Ernie). We can hear them cackling and the neighbors pick up eggs from them every day. I also have cats that live behind us. The cats and me are always watching out for each other. I really think they like to tease me through the fence.
Sasha and I like to wear scarves. Sometimes when Mom takes them off to wash we really miss them. After they are washed they don't quite smell the same.
This is me, Ernie showing off my red hot chili pepper scarf. I like this one best.
PS We went to the country for a few days. It was beautiful and Sasha & I had lots of fun, sun, playing, and sniffing. Mom is working on downloading some pictures. She sure took a lot of them. Some better than others. She followed us all over. After a while we just ignored her and her camera. But truth be known, we do like having our pictures taken.
Later. Have a good weekend.

Checking out the trail

On the trail by our house. So many sniffs and hills to run up & down. Our friend and pack member Sammy and his Dad went too.
Coming down one of the hills. What a workout. Downhill not bad. Uphill is good. Gets our hearts pumping.
Can't get enough of the sniffs, and reading the pee mail.
We're really getting into it now. So much to find out when reading/sniffing the pee mail of all the critters that have passed by.
It is a good walk. Sun was out and we got to spend time with friends.
Have a great day and enjoy the sun whenever you can. Summer is a coming!!

Bambi is mine - all mine!!!
Battle of Big Dog and me the Schnoodle!!
Sasha is a bit more stubborn than I had expected. She sure is hanging on to Tigris.
Maybe if I Ernie get down low I can get the best of her.
Well, she won that one! I am not giving up. I still have my Bambi toy. I'll sneak up later and get it when she puts it down.
Mom says we have cabin fever. She has had a lot of projects and she is getting ready so we can go on a trip. How do I know??? I saw her packing Sasha's and my backpack with food and treats. She is also packing her and Dad's stuff. I did hear her say something about taking us to the park so we can swim. Whoopee!!! We do like the park.
Barks to You!!!!

Special Little People

We sure had a good fun visit. KRB was really laughing. He was so happy. Mom didn't get too many pictures of us outside playing with these little people. It was really wet. We had a good time anyway.
Sasha sure hogged the hugs and cuddling. She stayed as close to them as she could.
I Ernie finally got my share of the pets and cuddles. I was really getting into it. KIB is very gentle.
Sasha was worn out and the little princess was happy with herself. She is so good with us. We hope they come back again before too long. They sure kept us busy while they were visiting.

A site that helps animals

Hi everyone, There is a site Mom goes into everyday that helps animals. You may already know of it but Mom says it is good because just by clicking on the site, dogfood is donated to shelters by vendors who sponsor the site and others. Other tabs can also be clicked on that help Hunger, Breast Cancer, Child Health, Literacy, Rain Forest. If one wants they can click on all of them or just one they choose. The vendors that sponsor each site also have items you can order if you like. It is one way to help that doesn't cost anything. That is unless you want to buy something from one of the sponsoring vendors. Site: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3 It is really sunny and nice here today. It should also be nice for the next few days. GOOD NEWS!! Mom filled the wading pool yesterday and Sasha & I really had a good time. Mom said it made us even friskier. Maybe we can get her to take a picture of us. Have a great day! Ernie & Sasha

Alki Beach

We went to Alki Beach with our friends on Sunday. It was a beautiful sunshiny day. But because it was a public beach we couldn't be off leash etc. Our other pack member Sammy loves sticks. The bigger the better. Here he is running on the beach trying to catch up to us. He is one strong little fellow. Here is another shot of Sammy following his Mom. We think he would like a little help or maybe even have someone throw the stick for him. He likes that but doesn't like to let go of the sticks. Can he ever hang on to them! Mom thought she would throw in a couple of pictures of the beach. The tide was FAR FAR out. Lots of good sniffs.
Sammy's Mom & Dad and the 3 of us pack dogs. We have a lot of fun going with these guys. We have lots of fun exploring when we go with them.
Sammy never gives up. He is obsessed with sticks.
Have a great day everyone! Woofs & kisses.
