A birthday coming up & 2 new homes

Hi everybuddy,   It's me Ernie.  We got news.
Little Mario was adopted the day after Christmas.  His new family seemed VERY happy with him.  They knew he was still learning to trust & they were looking forward to helping him.  M said he looked very cute walking with them. He was "prancing".  He only looked back at her a few times.

Fritz was also adopted.  His name was changed to Mickey and he seems to be really happy where he is AND they are "tickled" to have him.  M & D thought he was wonderful (of course they think that about all of the fosters).

Look at them eyes.  Caya is in love with Sasha.  She is always pestering her - cleaning her up, cuddling with her etc.  Yesterday Sasha came in from outside where it was raining & Caya was trying to lick the rain off her.  I wonder if she has a "Sasha fetish"????
This here is our birthday girl.  Chica will be 2 on 12/30.  We got her on 12/30/09 and she was 1 year old.  So now that is her birthday.  Don't tell Chica but M & D have a couple of presents for her & a couple of treats. Probably no burgers etc.  What a shame. Maay have to work on M & D to do something more that just basic treats.
I have to admit she is cute & we have a lot of fun together.  Sometimes all the fosters take over my play time with her - that isn't so much fun I tell you.

I am trying to figure out what I am going to do for her big day.  Maybe I'll chase her around the backyard, play tug with her --- I'll come up with something.
I sure hope M & D have something special for ALL of us too.  Even if it is her special day.

Hope you all have a Happy New Year.  Thanks for visiting.  We enjoy & look forward to visits.

Alki Beach Walk

Yup it's me - Ernie.  I almost have a new haircut.  The new hair cutters are really good if you talk to Mom. BUTT she kept getting interrupted by stuffs.  Don't know why she didn't put out one of those "Don't mess with us" or "Do Not Disturb" signs.

In this picture most of me has been trimmed except my face.
This was me waiting for her to get busy after my bath & blowdry.  My hair was getting a bit shaggy.  I think I only look cuter  when it's like that.  She says it starts getting dredlockd.....
She decided we were done for the day.  She thought my face needed more hair shaping but she knew that as patient as I am, I was getting tired.  OMD I almost fell asleep...Still have some belly hair and face hair to work on.  Next time.  Thanks to the 4 B's Mom for info about which clippers were good &some  other tips too.!!!!
We went with some friends to Alki Beach late yesterday afternoon. A fun walk even if chilly with the wind & all. The ferry was moving quickly to get people & cars to their destination.
It was so clear we could see Mt Baker.  We didn't really care too much cuz we were enjoying seeing other things like pups, kids, birds, & gettin' in some sniffs.

As you can see M went crazee with the picture thing. This pic shows a ferry, Mt. Baker, & a freighter. It was getting to be later afternoon & M used the excuse that was why some pics seemed a bit hazy.
Don't know these humans but they seemed to like standing in front of the statue.

The Space Needle & some of the downtown buildings.
The sky was clear & the moon really was bright.  I liked the way the branches were pointing up at it.
Sun setting on the Mountain.
Finally M took a picture of Chica, Sammy, me, and Sammy's Dad.   Thought we were going to get away with not having pictures taken of us this time.  Wrong... Although you may notice which end we showed her for the pics - BOL
M kinda like this with the airplane & the Space Needle.  It was really starting to get dark here  AND  the batteries had worked so hard they were fading.
More looking across to downtown & the lights coming on.
Space Needle & downtown skyline.

Park lights coming on.   It was a fun walk and we had fun exploring.  Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a Wonderful New Year.  We are wishing food & new homes for those poor animals who don't have food or peoples to love them.  Prayers for those of our blogging furiends who we have read about who are not feeling so well.
Love & sloppy dog kisses
Ernie,Sasha,Chica - even Caya,Lucas,Pinto, & Mario
PeeEss:  Please hold good thoughts for Mario.  It looks like he is going to have a meeting on day after Christmas with someone who is interested in adopting him.

Great things can come in VERY small packages

Good Friday Morning everyone,
Mom here again.  I'm getting to like doing this.  Ernie is spending time outside patrolling the fenceline for the cats.  He will be getting a haircut. Will see how I do with the new clippers...
Anyhow, I saw an article about a Chihuahua who is now a Police dog on a Japanese Police Force.  Thought you might enjoy it.  Also I have included a link to the website.
Have a great Friday!!

Foster Pups

Hi furiends, Ernie here.  Mom was playing with You Tube & trying to learn something new.  That way she can go after us even more with those camera things.  Mom says Thank You to TG & Jack for the hint on including videos.
Hope you all have a good Thursday.  Not as rainy here today & there is a chance we may get even some sunshine again soon.  And Thanks to the 4 B's mom for the haircut tip.  M is going to try out her new awesome clippers soon.

Help with Laundry

Hi everybuddy.  M got some help with the laundry. What do you think is in this mess of sheets?
You can't see them but Lucas & Caya got themselves all covered up.  They helped M with the WARM sheets.  I think they really just want to curl up & sleep in them when they are fresh out of the dryer.  That's what they were trying to do in the 1st picture.  They were having lots of fun...

Lucas & Caya playing with the sheets & maybe trying to dust the floors??

Troublemakers or could it be  Cabin Fever with all the rain.  Lucas & Chica, with a PeePad. Looks a little like snow don't ya think.
I climbed in the tub to give M the hint that I wanted a bath.  She took it and now I feel much better.  She uses a noisy thing that blows warm air on me.  It feels so good I just lay down on the table  & rest.  I figure I might as well enjoy because it not only feels good but I get treats after.
I like it lots better than going to a groomer.
She got a new cutter thing & is going cut my hairs.  Only thing is with all the rain, I may need to wear a coat cuz I will be missing a lot of hairs.

When she finally gives me a trim, I am sure she will post some pics of my handsome self with my new do.
Have a fun week.

Special Blanket!!

Ernie's Mom here.   Found this video on http://dogblog.dogster.com/.  I just couldn't help it sharing it!!  It is precious & certainly shows love.  You can tell this Pit has only known love & caring.  Check out the "blanket"!!

Hope you all have a great day! It is RAINING here a LOT.  Ernie & company are hanging out inside today.  If this keeps up they might need life jackets to go outside.  LOL!!

Can you imagine - part 2 & Pinto

OUTrageous!!! Hi it's me Chica.  Since I posted about clothes already, Ernie was too embarassed & Sasha didn't even want to bark about this one....

M was looking  at something on Animal Planet & saw some videos.  This was just TOO much.   We're going to have to start putting "dog controls" on what she looks at on the internet.

Here it is:  What do you think?  Personally I would be totally embarassed wearing one.  Haven't done a video like  this before so hope it shows up OK.

Well, we had an Adoption Event yesterday.  It was a slow day and only 1 pup was adopted. M & D left here with 4 fosters. Came back with 2 - one was Mario the Pom, and the other was a new one named Pinto.  He is a sweetie M says.  I tried to put him in his place and show him I was a leader.  He didn't believe me-- he growled at me so I decided to go lay down for a while rethink my approach till he got over it.

Chica, Thank you.  I am going to take over and tell the rest of the story.   Anyhow, at the adoption event---- 3 of the 4 fosters we had were going to new foster homes.  We are trying to reorganize so the fosters only have 1 maybe 2 fosters at a time.  Caya, Lucas, and Fritz were going home with their new fosters. It was hard letting them go. We were only going to bring Mario home.   That changed--- Pinto needed to go home with someone.  So--- he came home with us.  He is fitting right in.  He has a lot of energy so He can go on long walks and some hikes with us.  That will be good.

This is the only pic of him so far.
Thanks Chica for letting me put in some thoughts.
PS Some people loved the crate blankets, muscle shirts, and dog coats and actually bought some.  All in all a good day spent with great people & sweet pups.

Can you imagine?????

Well, M had entirely too much time on her hands or something today.  She hogged the
computer & seemed to be having a good time.
 She was ooohing and ahhhhing.

This outfit doesn't seem too bad.  Especially when I, Chica am not really into peeing & getting my feets wet.  I don't know who this cute model is but it isn't me.
Can you imagine if I had to wear this around my neck.  I probably wouldn't be able to pick my head off the ground!!!! It looks huge & heavy.  Said it was for Chi's & Yorkies....

This is a pretty color.  But I might hurt myself with those spike things.....
And  this is really over the top!!!! I refuse to wear something like this. The pink robe might feel good if I was cold.  But that shower/hat thing just doesn't work for me!!!
Here is what I think of those clothes!!  They even had party clothes, jeans, leg warmers and stuff like that.  I just am not that kinda girl. Give me a fleece muscle shirt or coat anytime.  Keep me warmer.  Maybe some boots- yaaaa that might work.

Thanks for listening to me rant.  It was hard getting the 'puter away from Ernie & Sasha!!!

PS:  On Saturday there is an adoption event.  We have had so many fosters for the last few weeks because of the holiday that 3 of our 4 are going to new foster homes after the event.  Caya, Lucas, & Fritz are going home with other fosters.  Mario will be staying.  Things may change if any or all get adopted.  M has been sewing & will be taking some crate blankets, dog coats & muscle shirts to the event.  Maybe someone will buy them & the proceeds will go to PUP to help take care of the rescued pups.  If nobody buys any they will be used for the fosters to help make them comfortable & keep the warm.

Have a good weekend everybuddy.
