Fun in the Sun

Hi furiends!! We  had a beautiful SUNNY day(about time if you ask me).  Our home is foster free right now. Hard to imagine.  It's just us 4pups right now.   Dixie was adopted by a VERY wonderful couple and now has a Doxie brother to play with.  Her new pawrents say they just love, love, her and she is sooooo cute. We think she is going to have a great life with them.    Leo was adopted yesterday by a very nice lady who we think will give him a LOVING home.  They seemed very happy together.

Mom has been trying to get us all in one video.
She says we need a WIDE screen.  Something about us always running different directions.
Apologies for the "foggy" spots.  M says it must be nose prints or tongue kissed by us.

Happy Easter to all and for those who may not celebrate Easter -- Have a great Sunday!
We might be off line for a while.  But we'll be back.  Maybe with new pics of us and adventures.

KeepSafe Break-Away Collars

KeepSafe Break-Away CollarHey everybuddy,  Ernie here.  M is thinking we need new collars.  She has been hearing a lot about these BreakAway collars.

KeepSafe Break-Away CollarM wondered how it could be used to breakaway and also used to walk with.  So simple. There are 2 "buckles".  One is a regular snap together and then when using a leash, the 2 D rings are clipped together so the "breakaway" part doesn't give with pressure on the collar.

I think we see new collars in our future.  Soon to be ordered.

Have any of you used them?   Friends of ours (the 4 B's) use breakaway collars.  That is where we first heard of them.  M wishes she had done this sooner.  We have been lucky - no problems with not having them.

Other News:   Mom here;;;;   Well all the pups are healthy!!! WhooHoo!  What a relief.  If you remember Remy our "miracle" little Chi.  He weighed about 3 lbs and was very frail and week.  He now weighs about 4.5 lbs, has gotten strong, healthy, and have even gone on hikes.  He was adopted over the weekend by a couple who really love him.  He has a little brother Chi and all is going well.  He is very happy and they are happy to have him in their family.
Our little terrier girl has a meet n greet tonight.  Keep paws and fingers crossed please that all goes well. The interested couple really likes him.  We'll see how it goes when Dixie meets their other little dog.
Have a great day!!!

This N That

It's good to be back.  Seems like it has been awhile. Mom had to get a new puter thing. Think she likes the new one.  Maybe it will work better (or don't tell her I said this but maybe she will work better)
Leo-- Dixie---What are you doing!!!!!???   What??!! WE don't know how this happened...honest.

My clean "shaven" look.  At least she left me some hairs.....
Lucas and Chica resting after big play time.
Chica sure likes her "dumbells"  and posing for the flashy beast.

A lapful of pups.  Leo the little black guy hardly shows up. I know how that is - M has a hard time gettingt pics of me too.  Good thing he is surrounded by Chica,Dixie, and Lucas.
Amazing how so many can fit on a lap.
Chica with her conehead and IV  bandage. She is sticking her tongue out -guess  that's what she thinks of the sattelite dish she is wearing.  The wanted her IV to stay in so they could continue treatment the next day.  She got very sick with something we couldn't remember or pronounce.  BTW what is going on -- first Sasha, then me Ernie, and now Chica.  We all had something different.  No copycat stuff for us.   Chica was vomiting out of both ends and I heard the blood word.  Vet said she was very dehydrated and it was curable but would take intensive treatment.  Chica responded well to the fluids, antibiotics etc.  Because she was so dehydrated they kept her for a couple of days. She got to come home at night then went back in the morning.  The first thing they did made her look like a camel!!! They injected fluid under her skin. She is doing great now!!  So are the rest of us....

Some people were interested in Dixie and Leo but so far no applications for them..Soon we hope the right ones will come along for these 2 special furkids.

OOOPS! Sneaky

Mom here. Well, in a roundabout way this is our 200th post. "Ernie" started a post on 3/31, finished it today. I tried to change the posting date, it didn't work. So to celebrate.... we have 2 posts in one day. One on the 31st and one today. If you want to see the one Ernie started you need to go back to the one before April 1. Maybe that really was a late April Fools Day post.????? This little hummer was in the aviary at the desert museum I went to with a friend when visiting Arizona. I keep forgetting the name. If someone can tell me, I will make a note of it. It was outside of Tuscon and is big and a fun place to visit.
More aviary shots. There were MANY Hummingbirds. Fun to watch. This little hummer was busy eating and as they flew around they would come so very close to our heads. Enjoyed going thru the Aviary.
This horse was made out of scrap metal - hubcaps and lots of other items I can't remember now. Pretty amazing. Another view of him further down in the post.
A beautiful bronze statue (at least I think it was ) in Luther Burbank Park in Mercer Island, WA. It was off in a corner and had not been placed yet. They were evidently getting ready to put him in a special place.
Another view of the metal sculptured horse when I was in Arizona visiting. This horse and sleigh was very interesting. It was made up of all kinds of things like hubcaps, metal objects etc. I believe it was in Scottsdale. As Ernie said in the 3/31 post, I didn't take time to make note of places etc. Sorry. It would have been nicer. Now I just kind of guess.

Good News & Not So Good News

Hi furiends, It has been busy but some of us got to go on a long walk with our furiend Sammy from down the street. We had a bit of sun so off we went. Sammy, me(Chica) and Bandit. He's the one with the spot on his back. We went to Lincoln Park and wandered our way home. Of course the 2 Mom's were with us.
Pretty Daffydillys. There were lot of flowers to sniff and check out peemails.
Our foster Bandit. Actually he is visiting while his foster pawrents go to someplace called Hawaii and lots of sun, fun, and sand.
The ferry docking at Lincoln Park.
Bandit and I still walking and checking things out. Love this park. Lots of peemails and stuffs to see.
A freighter in the background. Looks tiny in this picture but it was a beautiful day for a walk there. Lots of peoples and their pups. It was lotsa fun.
Amy was adopted!!!! She is with a loving family and they are very happy with her. Her new Mom's dog had just passed over the Bridge about a month ago.
We think Amy and her will be GREAT together and Amy can go with her to her work!!
Ernie is not feeling well. Mom took him to the vet yesterday. He was throwing up and had the runnies and didn't want to eat. Some of it had blood in it and was very black looking. He is home now with some meds and special food. Mom didn't say much but we could tell her and D were worried.
Hey Chica, Thanks for stepping in and helping Ernie with the post. Do you mind if I take over?
No problem Mom. It's all yours.
Thanks Chica. Well, we don't know yet what is wrong with Ernie but he did have a temperature. He is on antibiotics, had a couple of shots to help with vomiting and diarrhea. We just tried switching to a different kind of food. We have done that before with NO problems. However, this has a higher protein and is the dehydrated raw kind. We were SLOWLY switching but he didn't have any problems until he was having some added to his dry food. None of the other dogs are having any problems. Could be he is just sensitive to this one. Because of the higher protein, it may be causing problems with his digestive and could cause a problem with his pancreas. That is not a for sure thing but could be a possibility. Anyhow, good news is he seems better this morning. This is the first time he has had any problem with food, if that is what it is. Hopefully, this takes care of it so he doesn't have to go in for all the blood work and x-rays. We'll see how things go.
Just realized we are almost at 200 posts. That snuck up on us..
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Love & wags
Mom, Chica and the other 3 furkids
