Thanksgiving by Sasha

It's me Sasha. Finally I got to sneak in and do a post. Figured it was my turn. As you can tell Ernie is one tuckered out little guy. What a day! It was great. Family came, cousin Murphy came. He likes me. I kinda like him too. We have a lot to be thankful for. Family, friends, pups we know and get to play with. People we meet on our walks and hikes. We are so lucky to have found a loving place to be our forever home. Mom is thinking about fostering pups. She thinks she may get too attached and not want to let any of them go. Dad would probably get really attached too.
Me & Murphy. Isn't he cute. He's about 4 I think. I am 9 1/2. I heard someone call me a "cougar". I always thought that was a big cat.
Notice Ernie trying to sneak in and play with us. I think it is hard on him not being a Lab. You see Murphy & I have this Labconnection. Ernie wants Murphy to run and chase with him. I think Murphy only has eyes for me. Sometimes I think Ernie gets a bit jealous.
I got him. I'm holding him down. He was trying to clean my ears again. I think my ears are clean without him licking & cleaning them. Maybe he has an "ear fetish"???
Mom took a couple of video clips. I think Murphy & I are the stars in these but you will see Ernie try to take the center stage. He gets right in the camera with his nose. OHHHH, Ernie tried to upstage us again. We heard people tell him no.
We had a great time and got in a long walk after dinner. Murphy & his Mom & Ernie & me & Mom went to Lincoln Park for a long walk. It got kind dark really fast so we left the inside of the park and walked on the road where there were lights. Lots of people & pups walking off their Thanksgiving dinners.
Hope you all had a fun Thanksgiving and remembered all the things there are to be grateful for. Sometimes when we think about it, there are almost too many to list.

We were bored??

M & D went out with some friends. We couldn't go so we decided to play. Our little bunny was just laying there. Looking pretty lonesome.... So we figured he needed company and we started playing. Actually it was "tug a bunny". He had been around & lasted quite a while. Well.... long story(??) short. He didn't hold up too well. This is what M & D found when they got home. We did have fun though. We were good as usual and didn't bother anything else. It was his fault his "skin" didn't hold up well. He ended up just laying there with his little feet in the air. We have been going places but can you believe Mom has been forgetting her camera. It was beautiful and we hadn't been there before. We went to Foster & Marsh Islands. We were going to keep going to the Arboretum. But the rain started coming down VERY heavy. We were all soaked by the time we got back to the car. It was worth it cuz there were some good sniffs. We kept wanting to go in the water. Mom wouldn't let us this time. We plan to talk her into going there again maybe when rain isn't threatening so much. Mom has also been busy sewing. These are some of what she has been playing with. She took them to show some people at the restaurant and they bought them. Now they want more. This is cutting into our walk & fun time. We are going to have to work on this problem.
Have a fun Saturday. Thanks to all of you who have been visiting us. We really enjoy hearing from you.

Quiet & Wet Windy Weekend

Hi everyfurriend, This is a not so good pic of a friend we see on our neighborhood walks sometimes. He's really big & tough looking. But is very nice. When I first came to live with Sasha, I used to bark and jump at the end of my leash whenever I saw him. I'm not sure why by I must have had a good reason. He however, just ignored me. How could he ignore me??? I was making lots of noise & being fierce. When we saw him today I didn't pay much attention to him. His Mom gave me a BIG congratulations. She said I was GREATLY improved and she hardly recognized me. We haven't seen them for awhile. Mom says I have gotten better with every walk. His Mom was impressed at how much I had changed. M & D think that is a wonderful thing.
A not so good pic of a new little friend. Sasha walked(she was on the sniff) right in front of the camera. They just moved into the neighborhood. She really liked Sasha and she & her Mom went for a walk with us. It was kind of fun. Iyumi is a very happy baby and smiled and laughed a lot. Maybe they'll go with us again sometime. Sasha is a sucker for cute little kids. Mom missed pics of Sasha kissing and nuzzling her. To give Mom credit, she did have us both on leashes. It was a juggling act to get the camera out of her pocket. On Sunday it was raining and cold. M & D were with friends and we had to stay home. So when they got home we entertained them by playing with our stuffies. Sasha trying out her nose hold on her baby. Maybe a foot hold would be better...
How about the ear. It doesn't taste as bad as the foot. Maybe he needs a bath sometime???
I am spending some quality time snuggling with my cow.
Sasha was trying to get me off the couch and I think she wanted to play tug of war .
I have him pinned OR am I just taking a break? Green eyes, are they alien?? NOT!
Think I'll show him who is boss.
A video clip of us playing with the stuffie. Mom had a hard time keeping up with us cuz we move so fast.
Hope you have a fun day. Later....

Sasha's New Friend

We went for a long walk and thru this neighborhood park & wetland area. It has quite a few trails and lots of sniffs and peemail.
This is our new friend Lucien. He is a beautiful Malemute and is about 1 1/2 years old. He is very sweet and he loves Sasha. He kept nuzzling her. Sasha may be playing hard to get. She is such a sweet thing and maybe he reminds her of Bo. One of the Siberians M & D used to have.
Lucien was rescued like we were. His human said Lucien was on Petfinder for quite a while. Lucien seemed very well trained and like someone had spent a lot of time with him. His human doesn't understand how someone could not have wanted him. We told him maybe Lucien was just waiting for the right person. Like him to come along. Anyhow he is kind of mellow and Mom says he is a real sweetheart. Hey Mom, what about us??? Aren't we sweet too???
The humans did a lot of visiting and that gave us a lot of time to get to know him. (Even if we were all on leashes). He doesn't have any playmates. He is an only pup right now. We got the feeling maybe one day they might get him a playmate.
Maybe we will meet him again sometime and get to play more. We think it would be fun.
Hope you have a fun weekend and get to go outside and enjoy.

Between Downpours

It has been SO wet lately we haven't taken as many long walks or hikes. Mom felt the 3 of us were getting "cabin fever". So between rainy downpours, we met up with our friend Sammy & his Dad and went to the park nearest us where we could be off leash..... whoopee... that's fun. We did a lot of exploring and running. Notice my tongue. Running up the hills was good.
Not a really good pic of the Bay but Mom thought the bare trunks of the Madrona's were interesting. Personally we've seen them many times. But she enjoys taking pics. Sammy standing still. He doesn't do that often. Maybe he wanted his pic taken????
I know there's a critter up that tree. Think he may be hiding. Sasha has had some great sniffs. In fact she has done a LOT She's reading a lot of pmail.
This is a sample of some of the things Mom has been doing since she got her new sewing machine thing. Some people really like the things she calls bookmarks. Personally our fave is the puppy one. There are abour 20 designs she says. She is having fun and has also made some Christmas ornaments. When she makes our winter coats, she is talking about doing some personalization on them. We don't know about that..... Maybe we should stay anonymous???
Hope you enjoy your day.

"Whiskey Woods"

We finally had a break in the rain. So we joined with our friend Sammy and his Mom and went to "Whiskey Woods"for a long walk. Whiskey Woods is not its real name- but is what people have called it for a long time. We heard people used to party there a lot. It is a great place for sniffs & stuffs AND we got to be free of the LEASHES. It has trails all over and we got to do some exploring- that is with our chaperones (Moms) tagging along. This chair was just sitting there like someone had been resting and looking over the woods. Wonder how it got there???
The woods get pretty wet and the parks people put this nice wooden pathway over some parts. Notice how we played follow the leader.
We decided we should spread out so we could cover more ground & really check the place out. Because the 2 Moms were slower than us - most pics were of our backsides. Maybe not out best feature but not too bad either.
WhooHoo!!! We found a stream. It was way cool and it was fun to explore. When Sasha came out her feet were REALLY dirty. But because she is "teflon coated" it pretty much was all gone by the time we got out of the woods and got home.
I had to go in and help Sasha check it out. Figured she shouldn't have all the good sniffs & fun.
Further into the woods. We had so much to check out. We're lucky we got thru there & didn't have to spend the night. (Just Kidding) Look at my eyes!!! They're glowing with happiness. Or is it something alien took me over??? Hey Now!!!! That's not fair... Sasha & Sammy watching me take a dump & Mom taking a picture. What's the meaning of that????
Along one of the paths. Where were we?? Mom missed us by the time she snapped the picture??? Most of the leaves have fallen and it was fun to run thru them. Hope everyone had a fun weekend.

Trickery & a Hike in Lincoln Park

We are pretty smart pups. We thought something was up. Mom gave me a bath yesterday. She said something about all the pitch I had in my hair. It really wasn't that much. At least I didn't think so.. THEN this morning she dressed us up in bright scarves and asked us is we wanted to go for a ride. Of course we did!!! It was fun UNTIL we pulled up outside of the vets office. Then it wasn't as much fun anymore. We had to get checked, they stuck a thingie in our backsides and then said we were good. They checked us all over and listened to our hearts & lungs and felt us alllllll over. Thennnnn we got shots. We're good for awhile now. Thankfully!
Anyways . . .. she also dressed Sasha in a pretty scarf and took her picture too.
Later we went for a long walk/hike in the park. It was a longgg one so we got lots of sniffs and stuff.
That little spot you see in the lower right of the picture is our friend Sammy. Luckily we were out of camera range so we got a break from posing.
Here we are walking along the beach. Sammy is with his Dad, I (Ernie) am with Sammy's Mom. They say we three dogs are a pack. Sasha was sniffing and so was following us along with Mom who is the official picture taker. Notice she & Sasha didn't get their picture taken this time.
A view from the beach. There were a lot of people and other pups there today. Mom was more interested in pics of scenery today. Today the scenery was way better than some of the people we met. Most of them didn't want to let their pups say hi or sniff or anything. They just pulled them along. Maybe the peoples don't really like being out and walking like all of us.
More beach shots. It was a beautiful sunny Fall day.
One can barely see it but the white thing across the bay is a Ferry. It carries lots of cars and people. Sasha & I have never been on one. M & D have.
Heading back up the trail to the top part of the park. Sure wish we could have been off the leash. This is a park that doesn't want pups off leash. Some are let off and if they get caught they have to pay money.
It just started raining so we were lucky to get our walk in early. Have a fun day.

Mom Slacking Off

Mom says she has been busy..... She sure hasn't taken as many pictures lately or gone as many places. She took this picture of the Fall Leaves but did she bother to take any of us>>>> NO she didn't. Mom says she has been busy making things for Christmas on her new sewing machine and cleaning the house using her new vacuum. WhooPee..... That's lots of fun for us. NOT! We're working on her though. Giving her those looks & stuff. She did take some pics of us on our last trip to the cabin. They said they were winterizing it. So that means we may not get up there again till Spring.
While M&D were working around the place and visiting people.... We did a lot of sniffing and exploring. We even found a couple of garter snakes. Mom doesn't like snakes. One was small and the other must have been the granddaddy. Cuz it was much bigger. I did find a lot to keep me busy. Almost caught me a squirrel. It was so close. Missed him by a hair and then he ran under the shed.
Mom managed to get a couple of pictures of me circling & waiting him out. She tried to get a video clip of me zooming around & around the shed. I was just too fast. But I think maybe I made him dizzy. I think I was getting dizzy.
He is so close I can smell him....He is a hard critter to catch. Mom said maybe it was good I didn't catch him. What does she know????
From Ernie's Mom... We met a new friend named Sandy. She works on a project for the homeless. It is called the Bridge and Beyond Project. They knit & crochet hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets for the homeless. Please drop by and visit her and find out more about the project. The blog is: http://homelessbridge.blogspot.com
There is also a project called the Snuggle Project for homeless shelter animals. They make blankets or "Snuggles" for these shelter animals to help make them more comfortable while they await a new forever home. The blog address is: http://www.snugglesproject.org/ Have a good day all our bloggin' friends.
