Hi everybuddy, It's me Ernie. The lady who runs the rescue (PUP Dog Rescue in Issaquah) and who saved me from the high kill shelter in CA -sent mom these pics that showed what a sorry mess I was before I came to them. I was furrrrry lucky because a lady came in to the shelter just before I was to be euthanized. She like me and said she saw something special in me. SOoo she took me to the groomers and I had my first SPA treatment.
So here we are about 3 years after that and M & D have brought in about 61 dogs to foster. It has been interesting. I heard Mom say we'd be lucky to get to 5 fosters. Guess it gets in the blood. :-)
We are a house full of rescue pups (Sasha,me, Chica,Lucas,and GG's dog Rosie) We always get excited and check the crates that come in the house to see what kind of friend they brought us this time.

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing I love more than a good rescue story and yours is wonderful. I was in a no-kill shelter for three months before my Mom came for me but we got a happy ending just like you.

Ernie it WAS obvious that there was something special about you...and where better for a special boy to end up than with an entire family of the specialest folks--2 and 4-legged--ever created! We too, are a family of rescues, so we can tell one when we see them! You are all incredibly wonderful to have helped 61, SIXTY-ONE! pups get a second chance at a loving and caring forever home...we give you a White Dog Army salute of respect!

ReplyDeleteHi Ernie, my peeps have been really busy. Early mornings and late nights. But we're glad that we saw this blog post. Yup, I do look like you in your early years. I think that we're both pretty good looking and our peeps love us. My mom and dad promise to look you up whenever we get down to Seattle again.
