KeepSafe Break-Away Collars

KeepSafe Break-Away CollarHey everybuddy,  Ernie here.  M is thinking we need new collars.  She has been hearing a lot about these BreakAway collars. 

KeepSafe Break-Away CollarM wondered how it could be used to breakaway and also used to walk with.  So simple. There are 2 "buckles".  One is a regular snap together and then when using a leash, the 2 D rings are clipped together so the "breakaway" part doesn't give with pressure on the collar.

I think we see new collars in our future.  Soon to be ordered. 

Have any of you used them?   Friends of ours (the 4 B's) use breakaway collars.  That is where we first heard of them.  M wishes she had done this sooner.  We have been lucky - no problems with not having them.

Other News:   Mom here;;;;   Well all the pups are healthy!!! WhooHoo!  What a relief.  If you remember Remy our "miracle" little Chi.  He weighed about 3 lbs and was very frail and week.  He now weighs about 4.5 lbs, has gotten strong, healthy, and have even gone on hikes.  He was adopted over the weekend by a couple who really love him.  He has a little brother Chi and all is going well.  He is very happy and they are happy to have him in their family. 
Our little terrier girl has a meet n greet tonight.  Keep paws and fingers crossed please that all goes well. The interested couple really likes him.  We'll see how it goes when Dixie meets their other little dog.

    Ive heard of breakaway collars for cats, but not dogs. Interesting. I may have to check it out!

    We may have to check those out. SHE is interested as we often lunge for cats, snakes or other critters and SHE thinks we may break away one of these days, thanks.

    Breakaway collars are the best collars to have for cats and dogs because the danger is always there that he/she may try to get loose for one reason or another. This type of collar (as well as "no slip" aka "martingale") are the best way to keep your pet safe! Thanks for the tip!

    I've read mixed reviews about those collars. Some folks swear by them and others say they break away too readily. Worth a shot. Let us know what you think.

    I never had a breakaway collar but they look like a good idea. I am really ready for a new collar. Mine is so last year.

    we are PROUD of you kiddos for getting the breakaway collars!!!!! our human just got one for Walter and it has his own tag on it with his name and phone number. we just have to warn you though, that if you go for a walk with a breakaway collar, PLEASE clip your leash to both of the rings. if you don't, the collar will "break" and you will be gone. we actually have different collars for walking, different ones for the dog park, and our breakaway collars are our "stay at home" collars. we wear them whenever our human doesn't have her eyes on us. i don't know if you remember this, but last summer Baxter's life was saved by his breakaway collar. he was lying on our deck and his ID tags got caught between the deck boards. he had to break his collar to get up. thank dog he had that breakaway collar.

    okay, enough already.

    we're glad everydog is healthy. good for Remy for gaining so much weight! does that mean that he has to get 'tutored' now? eek

    Both of my horses have breakaway halters but I didn't know about the ones for dongs. They make a lot of sense!
