| Not really my best side but does show one of my cute ears. Poor Emma, she is so dark about the only thing we can see of her is her shiny black coat and a little white on her foot. |
Mom saw this poem and thought she would like to share it. I looked it over and liked it too so I gave my OK. Lately she has been checking out poems - she says they sometimes say things better than she can. Oh well, whatever.

Count That Day Lost
By George Eliot
If you sit down at set of sun
And count the acts that you have done,
And, counting, find
One self-denying deed, one word
That eased the heart of him who heard,
One glance most kind
That fell like sunshine where it went-
Then you may count that day well spent.
But if, through all the livelong day,
You've cheered no heart, by yea or nay-
If, through it all
You've nothing done that you can trace
That brought the sunshine to one face-
No act most small
That helped some soul and nothing cost-
Then count that day as worse than lost.

BTW Ernie doing a bit better it seems. Still not doing stairs (or not supposed to). He is sneaky that way sometimes. M says he is getting something called "cabin fever". Thank you to everyone who has been wishing him well. Evidently these things sometimes take a while.
Lucas for Ernie,Sasha,Chica
George Eliot said it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteEating in close proximity....that is a great improvement. We sort have problems with that.
Glad Ernie is getting a bit better. Don't let him be so sneaky that he hurts himself again.

Hi Everybuddy, we are the same (well I am). I like my bone and then I want to take Rory's as well. Mum says we are working on it and I have improved heaps. Take care all. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteLucas, you tell M that the reason Emma and Noam are so well behaved is that they have great teachers. That can lead into a conversation about a raise and more treats.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Ernie is doing well. You KNOW we can't wait until he is up to his old tricks!
Happy, Waggin' Tails, FUREVER!

Hi everyone, we hope that Ernie is healing. Better tell him not to attempt stairs or else it could be surgery and an even longer jail sentence. My brother and I prefer not to actually hold our bones so mom holds them for us. I suppose its a "neatness" thing. The shelties will take your hand off if you try to touch their bones :0
ReplyDeleteYou guys sure have come a long way!
